A service oriented organisation named as Karnataka Nair Service Society (KNSS) was established on 8th June 1982 .
As the saying goes” Every great journey begins with a single and purposeful step”. With this conviction, seven dedicated Directors of the Board of Management of KNSS, registered an Educational Trust on 3rd September 1987 in the name of Mannam Memorial Educational Trust (MMET), as the educational wing of KNSS. They started a Primary school in Kammanahalli in M.S.Nagar on 2nd October same year, to cater to the growing educational needs of the lower and middle class families of the area.
In order to expand the activities of the Trust, the name has been changed to
Mannam Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (MMECT) in 2006.
The school started with less than fifty students had become a fully developed institution, offering quality education from Pre-Primary to High School level, in a short span of time. The school now has a strength of nearly thousand students. This was possible only because of the patronage provided by the parents and the whole hearted support and guidance received from the well-wishers.
The school is recognised by Government of Karnataka and affiliated to Karnataka State Board. School has been performing extremely well with excellent results in SSLC examinations and the students making their presence felt in the extracurricular activities at different levels. It is gratifying to note that, over the years, a larger number families have benefitted of this institution. We are proud to state that a large numer of our Alumni is faring very well in various sectors. It is a matter of great satisfaction that the alumni members are returning to the school to admit their children, enforcing their trust in the school.
